Heatstroke

Overheated dogs may develop a body core temperature exceeding 106.0 degrees resulting in a cascade of complications that become irreversible and result in death. Overweight and short muzzled dogs are predisposed. Never leave your dog in a parked car unattended. Don't leave your dog outdoors unsupervised in hot weather (humidity increases the risk); make sure shade and water are available.
